TMNT and New Animation Study

Alright.  Now I just can't wait.  At first when I heard about this I was pissed off.  How can you change something, that no longer even belongs to the original creator at this point.  The fans hold ownership now, (LOL). So...

What I'm talking about is the new Ninja Turtles movie. I heard that Michael Bay wanted to change their, lore.  Their origin story of how the Ninja Turtles became the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  I know that it sounds silly for a grown man to rant and rave about this.  Hey I was sad that someone decided to remake a classic, such as "The Evil Dead."  Some classics should just be left untouched.

These were movies that I grew up on, and it just doesn't seem to be ok to take them, and just... change their core.  Now, I have to agree I tried to watch some of the old Ninja Turtle movies recently and they did come off a little cheesy.  But, they did trigger some nostalgic emotions that made me smile when I sat and watched the characters, that I, know and love.

ANYWAY, with all that said. I still can't wait to see the new Turtles movie!  I can't help it.  The kid in me still lives strong.

Now, here is a look at a really quick wall walk.  The character is hanging from a ledge and shuffling from point "a" to point "b."

It's been a lot of fun making these short animations.  Not to mention it feels good to finish one.  Even if it is a really quick animation.

Gaining Momentum

This year is going really well so far.  I've found my urge to create again.  Gathering a bunch of inspiration and keeping it all around has been huge.  There are some many different artists and animators out there that have been sharing so much stuff, that I just can't keep up with it all.  I just have to remember to stop watching and reading everyone's work long enough for me to do my own work.

Right now I've been working on new animations.  I want to understand the body mechanics of realistic and cartoon characters, before I start in on the acting and dialog work.  I just finished a transition animation from hanging to standing.   I learned new things about my animations and remembered some old tricks I've forgotten about.
